The human face and its representation, the ambiguity of the genre of portraiture; the earth, its topography, its landscapes, oceans, profiles and forms, between nature and artifice, antique cartography and modern skylines.
The main exhibition of Biennale Disegno 2016 centers on these aspects. The main thrust is the juxtaposition and dialogue between antique and modern/contemporary works, on view in the Sala delle Teche of Museo della Città and the very central FAR Fabbrica Arte Rimini. The works are drawings from very prestigious public and private, foreign and Italian collections. Artists like Giovan Battista Tiepolo, Federico Barocci, Giovan Battista Piazzetta, Rosalba Carriera, Guercino, Guido Reni, Bartolomeo Passerotti are seen in direct relation to works by Lucio Fontana, Domenico Rambelli, Luigi Russolo, Umberto Boccioni and David Hockney.
Collezione Ramo has contributed to the exhibition with drawings by Russolo, Boccioni and Pistoletto.
