Irina Zucca Alessandrelli, curator of Collezione Ramo, in conversation with the journalist and art critic Nicola Maggi.
Drawing, an intimate practice of production for artists, has become the focus of interest in recent years on the part of collectors, who in greater numbers have begun to concentrate on this form of expression. The Collezione Ramo, for which Irina Zucca Alessandrelli has been the curator since 2013, represents the most extensive gathering of drawings and works on paper from the 20th century.
During this encounter in the cycle Conversations on Collecting, the audience at the Pinacoteca will have a chance to learn more about the history of Collezione Ramo and the criteria that have guided its conception, while delving into the value of drawing as an independent mode of expression, not exclusively employed for the preparation of works in other media.
The conversation is also an opportunity to present the book “Disegno italiano del XX secolo. Opere su carta della Collezione Ramo” (ed. I. Zucca Alessandrelli and A. Negri, Silvana editoriale, 2018), a voyage in the history of drawing in the 1900s in Italy, starting with the artistic heritage conserved in the Collezione Ramo.
